Having bought the unit and a windows XP machine with a new and clean xp pro install, I came to put the cd in and find that it simply will not load. The installshield wizard does its stuff and then 2% in the installation stops with an error message telling me that it will not install, press any button to get out.
If anybody has had a similar problem, would you please let me know how you got it fixed, please?

Try copying the media to a folder on the desktop and run the installation from there.

Could be an optical disc problem.

Try copying the installation off from another machine as well if you struggle - then transfer back with a USB flash drive.

I've loaded carsoft 7.4 and never experienced that issue.

Thanks John for the idea. It did exactly the same thing loaded onto a
USB key from another machine and then loaded onto my new machine from Desktop.
Good job the car is more reliable than the tools!

I had a quick search to see what the minimum version of Windows it should run on and found this:

I wonder if the data on your disc is corrupt.

Assuming your Windows XP is already running ideally SP3, but at least SP2, I am somewhat baffled as to why it would not load.

You could try running it in compatibility mode as Windows 2000 but in my experience, this rarely gets round the issue.
