cd player in a CL600

Hi everyone another day at the coalface over,

If anyone can help with the following i would appreciate it.
The cd player in my car will not play burned cd's
i have loaded it with cd's copied from my pc which will not play. an original will play but not a cd burned from the pc.
Any ideas anyone, please??

Is the CD you burned a RW? reason I ask is that some players will play a CDR but not a CDRW.

Also check the CD will play in a home CD player not your computer. A computer will tend to look over the fact a burnt CD has not been finalised but a standard home HiFi CD player is usually not so tolerant.

The cd's are cd-r and they play in my old merc and my van?
They also play in my blue ray player at home.

Not guaranteeing it will work , but worth a try ... sometimes my Comand won't read CDR's and after i clean the lens it always does ....

The unit in the car might be to old to play copied discs

Have you tried a lens cleaner in the CL ?

If the burnt disk plays in other drives then agree with Howard a lens cleaner would be the next step as you have proved the burnt CD works. Failing that if you have a different type of blank CD to burn a new one try that. You can get some drives that don't get on with certain manufacturers disks, I have a PC drive that does not get on with Verbatim disks works with everything else.
