I had the standard 16" Elegance wheels on my 99 facelift E320 with 215/55/16 tyres all round.
It was very wallowy and the back end would slide out if going round a damp roundabout a little too quickly, in fact unless you slowed down to silly levels.
Anyway, the plan was to change the suspension set up at some point...however...........
I bought a set of Alshain 17" wheels, mainly cause they had some Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres with 6-7mm remaining on them, and they are my favourite tyre.
They have 225/45/17's on the front and 255/40/17's on the rears.
To say that it has improved things is the understatement of the century!!!
The car now feels completely planted, it has lost any signs of wobble that were there previously, it feels far better sat at 80-90mph on the motorway and it has not lost any of the comfort, just improvements in every area.
The levels of grip now is unreal in comparison, don't get me wrong it is still a 5m, 2 tonne estate with Elegance suspension set up, but I no longer feel the need to upgrade anything else.
A worthy upgrade in every respect, well chuffed.
