Hi

I am looking at changing my MB W211 standard 16" alloys to MB W211 18" sport alloys.

Does my E220CDI Avantgarde have the TPM system and how does it work as my BMW works off the ABS so just a reset when I change wheels.

Will I encounter problems?

Thanks

If you have tpms you should see it on the dash menu.

There are two systems in Mercs. One that uses pressure sensors in the wheels and one that uses ABS sensors. The former will report actual tyre pressures the later simply alerts to a problem, you have to check each tyre yourself.

I have the later on mine & it works(found this out when i had 2 new rear tyres recently & the fitter put the wrong pressures in them & i had to adjust them after resetting the tpms).

I also have the latter and it works well. Same experience as you re tyre fitter being generous with the air. Also had the dash go red twice but couldn't find any pressure loss, reset and all fine.

I'd rather a couple of false alerts than nothing at all ;)

Pm me your chassis number and I'll check what system you have using epc.

The valves on the high line system are signifcantly different - much more chunky than a normal valve.

Like this......

Damn - must get the wheels off this year :(
