Hi People,

can the brake pads on a w208 (clk 320) be changed by diy ? Or do they require a tool for the abs? Applies to front and rear pads. Any advice would be apreciated.

Cheers.

No they can be done without any special tools and can be done in the normal method.

Can anyone suggest a cheap source for front pads for the W208?
mine started to grind this morning without prior warning.

I'd get original MB ones, they aren't that expensive IIRC. I bought some pattern ones for mine not long after I bought it and they were rubbish. I swapped them for MB ones after about a week and binned them. Buy cheap, buy twice... ;)

Yes maybe worth sticking to genuine MB pads. I replaced all 4 corners on my 124 with cheap ECP items. The rears are squeeling like hell now :( i used the anti-squeel paste that came with the pads. next time, i'll use copper grease like i usually do. The fronts are fine, but a different brand of pad.

the performance of the pads however appear to be fine.
