I have standard radio/tape player and would like to change to radio/CD player in a 2001 CLK320 W208

I have the in-boot CD six disc changer and the Bose speaker upgrade system set up.

There seem to be a fair number of potential units on Ebay or via breakers.

What is the best way to go about it? Presumably there will be some codes unique to the units for anti-theft.

Any ideas or tips much appreciated.

You can put an Audio 10 cd into it without too much bother , as you say though , you need the code with the new unit.

Should be plug and play other wise. Audio 10 tape out , Audio 10 cd in

Is Audio 10 the standard Merc unit? Is it best to get one about the same year?

Any hints on how to remove from the console?

to remove the audio 10 you need a pair of removal keys there is no need to remove any dash panels.

As above to take out a tape audio 10 and replace with a cd audio 10 can be done in less than 60 seconds its that easy :D

Insert keys
Pull out unit
pull off iso connectors
pull of ariel connection.
plug iso's into new unit
plug ariel into new unit
push unit into gap firmly

job done
