Cheap W124 estate

I don't suppose there is one. You can pick them up for that kind of money if you are willing to shop around - I only paid £1700 for mine :)

at that price I am quite tempted. Anybody local that knows of the trader ??

190k on the clock - is the price about right for that?

as long as the car is sound then that's a very good price for a W124 estate of that spec even with that mileage although 180k is nothing to one of these.

The dealer is offering a full RAC inspection it's got to be worth a punt to anyone looking.

If it only lasts a year it will still be worth more than £1500 if you were to break it for spares :)

Trade value for an average condition car is £670 so £1500 is about right. I'll give them a call to have further details.

just rang the place. Can't say I have been impressed !! Let me give you some extraxts of the conversation:
"can't tell you much mate, I've got 80 cars here, ring back tomorrow"
"me: do you know if it's had the major 40000 miles interval service it is due?
answer same as above...anyway a major service is no more than £150 mate"...

I'll ring back tomorrow and see if the website says true " ******* has consistently offered levels of personal service rarely found in the motor industry"...in the meantime I'd be interested to hear from w124 owners how much they have piad for the 40000 miles interval "big" service.

I think it varies on where you get it done, I got a big one (all oils, filters etc.) for £160 from the local independent I trust. I think the Brabus boys up the road were quoting £220 (with the older cars discount).

I've got to say that trade values can be pretty much ignored for cars of this age, it's all about condition and what people are prepared to pay that counts.
It's probably just an old P/X that they've taken in on another car, maybe allowing them a fair price to secure the sale of the other vehicle at the screen price. Don't expect it to come fully serviced/valeted/cuddly toys etc if it's being sold in this way! ;)

I think it looks like an attractive price for a well specced, late W124 estate

Cheers :)

Will

For the year and mileage sounds like more or less retail money to me. Trade value of £600 odd can be safely ignored as one these in auction will fetch about £1000 with that mileage a bit more if it is in A1 condition.

Been to see the car and guess what, slightly not as advertised...Price is £1500 because one of the guys lost it on a roundabout and it need new front and rear bumper. It also need a new rear light cluster, the driver's window doesn't close completely and the FSH claimed on the ad lacks the last 60000 miles !!!Also the RAC check was done before the accident happened...I won't bore you with more minute details...

So the pictures were taken before it was crashed ?

I can't see much damage in the photos .....

yes they were. I have got pics of it now and it does look different...

May be you can see better now ??:D

Would be interesting to see......

1500...Wow thats heavy for a crashed E320...more like 500? Less? Seems like it could be repaired cheaply?

Depends what the rear is like, if it needs a cluster it might have damage to the rear wing too?

well that missing bodywork is an easy thing to miss when they are describing the car...

as you say, not exactly what was advertised. May be worth notifying trading standards?

Did you bother making an offer or just walk away, Im thinking if he just wants rid of it it might be worth making a much lower offer as I need a few spares, its got cruise and a 5sp box, both could be retro fitted to my CE

Yes I would recommened putting in a low offer, some W124 parts are hard to come by and many can be sold on to other members (like Akash) or eBay. Just my 2 cents...
