looking at a 99 vito petrol van. it has the row of 3 seats in rear.
was wondering if a childs 'booster"seat could be fitted front or rear for my 4 YO grandson ? thanks.

hi

what seat belt does it have, lap belts are a no no. But if you have 'normal seat belts most booster seat should fit.

Depending on the size of your grandchild a stage 3 child seat would be best. Booster seats are ok for older kids, but my grandkids have a habit of falling asleep in the car. At least with a stage 3 seat their heads are supported. You will also get proper harness to strap them in, you then use the car seat belt to buckle the seat in (unless they have ISO fixings?) . They vary in price from £30 upwards new, but plenty of second hand ones around, just make sure they are not solid and show no signs of damage etc.

639 Vito has Isofix on the centre row ... not sure about the OP's 638. But as above anything should fit using the belts - our son is 5 and has been travelling in our Vito since the day after he was born! Obviously you need to be careful about the front if a passenger airbag is fitted.

Have to agree with Bill you should be fine in the front with a booster seat!! We used a Maxi cosi that attached with the seat belts absolutely brilliant and he travelled that way from a young age, quite comfortably & no problem!!

thanks

thanks for all replies. the car has a plain folding bench seat in back with ( i think) lap belts only.
