2005 CLS 500 V8
Bought a W219 grille from CKS. I live in Northern Ireland and delivery should have been tomorrow or Monday. Received today and bought yesterday. Excellent communication throughout, excellent product (pics coming, looks awesome) and excellent price.

Highly recommend CKS to anyone, they are a great bunch/company!!!

I'm not a fan tbh, thinks it cheapens the car just my opinion.

Not quite the same that's a 218, IMHO a OEM AMG grille would suit, as you have a AMG bodykit... It would of course be considerably more expensive than the 1 bar CKS / E BAY jobbie....main thing is you like it :)

Just to add.., don't we like a debate...:D, IMO the facelift on the 219 made the car much nicer than the initial version, the 218 was much more aggressive in its appearance and for me the front view appealed even more.

The kit adds something like the 218 with the subtlety of the 219....we need a poll.....:bannana:

I think this is a classic case of photos not doing justice. I got nothing but great reviews today, one off a client who owns a F430 and another who has an SL55.

I would never be that person who just ruined their car, I treat every purchase with attention to detail and if I thought for a moment the grill would detract, I would not have purchased.

I respect your opinions. Though most grills are made from plastic and the colors compliment my car, so struggling to agree with the "cheap" and "Tacky"?

MB (and all other marques) spend millions on designing their cars. Getting the look just right, now I respect modifications and standing out from the crown. But sometimes its better just to leave it to those who originally designed it.

If you like it, that's the main thing!

Aftermarket companies exist to satisfy the greater consumer requirement, whether this is the provision of exhaust systems, alloy wheels or even more trivial parts such as grills and bodykits.

Why remap a C63 for example, Merc spent a fortune getting it "just right" ?

Mercedes like every company, attempt to position their cars to target groups. Yet they still need to retain a degree of generalisation as the niche markets make up small portions of society, and that is why aftermarket enhancement is big business and a go to, especially for higher level cars. Each to their own, I have no doubt BMW are quality cars but I absolutely detest them for a reason that I just dont feel good in one.

I think it looks fine.
I am not quite sure it goes with the pre-facelift headlights, but the main thing is that it rejuvenates a slightly older car & gives fresh appeal to the owner.
I have done similar to one of our Es- will get around to pics sometime.....

It makes car look younger, due to its design i dont think the w219 will appear dated, even in 5 years.

Overall it adds a touch more aggression and suits amg bodykit, think SL55
