CL55...first thoughts

Definitely needs ATF change, looks like it's never been done. Every 40k miles or so is sufficient

ATF was done @ 36,997 It was under additional work

I have this much jotted down

ATF
PLUGS
FILTERS(inc charcoal)
brake fluid ? (last changed 30k miles ago)
coolant
Oil and oil filter (probably, i need to look at dipstick)

With these cars it's always important to use a Mercedes Independent.

Their knowledge of the cars will save you a fortune over the generalist independent - both for the complicated stuff, and the mundane fettling, like that loose gear knob.

As regards the rear camera, well that's something for the car stereo specialist. Again, a large specialist dealer will know how to investigate and resolve very quickly - they do it all the time

Enjoy the AMG - but remember "Points mean Prizes!!!"

I am a bit peeved off with the rear camera, I have to foot a bill of £300 for this, the garage paid the bill but never informed me on costs, they also left it installed in the car (which is not much use as it doesn't work). They did install the camera in the bumper (very nicely too) and spend a lot of hours on this to give them credit.

I am not entirely sure they know what they are doing and think it should work with the 2.0 command, the ebay seller says send it back as he says they do work.

Very nice, looks an exceptionally clean car. Congrats.

I assume the rear camera is supposed to go in to the AUX on the TV tuner - does it actually have the TV tuner module - daft question but they are optional.

A ViseeO MBU-3000 can go in the cell phone holder, for Bluetooth handsfree, works with Siri etc but you can't stream music over it. I got a little BT adapter that plugs in to the Aux port in the glove box for that, music streams to the adapter and phone goes to the Viseeo.

Definetly find a good indy for servicing, I've spent thousands at my main dealer and the quality of work on one occasion was appauling. You might get lucky and find a good dealer but spending £110+ p/h gets old fast on big jobs.

I had the same problem with the buttons and couldn't get rid of the sticky stuff, so I bought new ones.

Ditto, think they were about £90 to purchase and the fitting was fairly reasonable as I gave them back to MB during a service to fit as it was out of my level.

Enjoy the AMG - but remember "Points mean Prizes!!!"

I still have a clean license but I drive like a grandad and haven't been really driven it for about 10 months. :(

The video box I had get installed, that has the video signal which connected to the camera. (no tuner in the car)
The garage also installed a 3.5" socket in the glove box (very neatly), is there already one there?

As I said, the camera doesnt work, I have not tried aux for sound yet, that I can check this afternoon.

I am on the case with indy MB speciaklists, I am sure I will have all servicing done in a week or 2, plus I am getting 4 wheel alignment.

really is a smashing car.

Not sure how you can get the video hooked up to the COMAND without the tuner, unless the video box outputs a similar signal or something - never looked into one as Parktronic seems good enough for me.

There should have been a 3.5mm AUX jack at the left hand side of the glove box from the factory. Perhaps it wasn't (I know some didn't come with one) so the garage installed it.

To go to AUX hit 'SYS' then you will see the AUX mode.

Servicing isn't cheap even from any indy mind, especailly if you are getting the ABC fluid changed!

I have video on my command (09 reg though) but it's only for DVDs in the slot (so not a lot of use as the nav disc lives there. :wallbash:)

I asked Alfie at Command on line if he could wire up a reversing camera and he said that my command wouldn't allow it and it's accepted that he and Richard at Command on line are the gospel when it comes to what can and cannot be done with command

Drop them a line on here or the other forum or via their site and they will respond. You might find the indie you use may be able to help but Command on line would be the most thorough of places to start and given its a fair few quid involved I would recommend getting their input
They'll need your VIN to confirm what model you have.

See / hear you around Southampton

Had a look at oil, definitely not replaced. Seller said it was done which clearly was not so disappointing in that. Sticky buttons are funked, most likely need to go.

Surprised if I cannot get that camera working, it already installed in the rear bumper.

Go and see Olly :thumb:

Word is that computer says no

You can get a box that works, but you need to manually hit 'TV' to activate the rear camera.

Getting it to auto switch when reverse is activated apparently is not possible with CD based command 2.0.

which brings me to my next post.!...

That's just gorgeous. Not many cars with that class i tell you
