cl63 amg

going of the reg it comes back as a 600.. also doesn't have the right wheels, but not sure to be honest. If it is its a bargain of the century!

Surely not a CL63, it would have quadpipes if it was?

Edit: Early '55's only had 2x pipes also

Wikipedia backs up the limited build by AMG - the cars were for high flyers. Not saying that car is genuine but it did happen (maybe)

DVLA have it listed at 6279CC , so it's genuine , a special order AMG .

Not many of these around.

Mercedes don't 'send them to AMG' anymore, because they are AMG. They stopped doing that about 15 year ago didn't they?

I think the seller is maybe getting mixed up with what happens when you want a Brabus.

Maybe .... only 444hp from a 6.3 litre V12 though :(

A CL55 would leave it standing.

These really were a limited-run special order model. A handsome car too.

It has the non facelift satnav, old brake calipers, old headlights, and single exhausts, thats why I wasnt too sure about it. The seats trim do look different to a normal Cl though, and the trim isnt one ive seen before. Was the 63AMG engine even built in 2002?

Even now AMG will build pretty much anything you want, it really isn't promoted at all in the UK to the same extent it is in mainland Europe.

I have to say I lost interest in cars produced after the merger (C36AMG onwards).

But the add reads as plausible, although I don't know of these particular cars.

Yup, they do. They would have even sprayed Maffs C63 Estate the same colour as his Ferrari, but they wanted £15,000.

AMG will do anything you want for the money. They would build a C126 SEC with CL63 running gear if you paid them. Probably £200K plus but I'm sure they'd do it.

But if they have taken a CL600 and turned it into a CL63, as the seller is suggesting, wouldn't the cost be absolutely astronomical? Hence my Brabus comment.

Edit: I'm viewing from my phone and can't see what those three pieces of paper say on the pictures.

OK , these are built by the super custom side of AMG , HWA , Hans Werner Aufrecht , but anything can be done if you have enough money ...

Was the 63AMG engine even built in 2002?

It's a V12 , not like the modern 63 unit which is a V8

This is indeed a genuine CL63 AMG, a limited run made by AMG only for 9 months or so during 2001, with a 6.3Ltr V12 engine. The same engine that was used in CL600 before Twin Turbo upgrade in 2003. Why did AMG did this version is not clear to me because they were also making the CL55 (before kompressor version) at the same time. Perhaps they were experimenting with larger capacity engines before they decided to stick a supercharger onto the V8 instead. I have only seen 2-3 of the original CL63 for sale in the past 3 years. Looks like a very nice example. Mel.

Personally, i would rather have a a facelift cl55,

i cant stand that old style sat nav, looks like something that shoould be fitted to a ford mondeo

more horse power from a cl55, more choice and many with fewer miles for less

just my opinion

Think you will struggle getting a 55K for less than 10K with lower mileage. I agree about the satnav, I would love to change mine for the wide screen version.

i have been watching these for months hoping to join the club in about 12 months or so, have to sell a house first and get it pased the wife

loads of cl500's on ebay going for around 7k lets face it who wants one in the current global down turn

and a really lovely cl55 sold recently on ebay for just under 10k

there is one for sale at the mo for 11k but has a few issues inc suspension issue (i think), he is never gonna get it, he would be lucky to get 9k for it

you do see some jokers asking 16k, but who would pay that for a 7+ year old 5.5l v8, not too many people thats for sure
