Cla 180 2013 petrol 1.6 spark plugs

Hi, I have a Cla 180 1.6 petrol sport which is stage 1 remapped. I’m wondering is there any better spark plugs I could upgrade to and which ones would these be? I can feel my spark plugs are wearing out and my mechanic has told me this could be due to the remap and to get an upgrade on my spark plugs. Thanks

If you mean brand, then NGK Iridium are considered better than the standard Bosch Platinum, although this means longer service life rather than better engine performance.

However, if the engine is remapped, then it might benefit from either hotter or cooler plugs, but in this case it's not a matter of brand, but rather of the spec of the spark plug:

But without knowing what has been done to the engine, it is impossible to tell.

Not at all, if he is an experienced Mechanic he must, or should know, of a brand of Spark Plugs that would suit his recommendation!

I second what mark jay has said. I own an Impreza so on the impreza’s the ngk with 6 ratings are used for stock STi’s. As the car is modified and what power it’s putting out then it’s recommended to go for hotter plugs like 7’s or 8’s. They reckon the standard 6 are ample enough to handle upto about 350 bhp.

A decent Benz mapper should be able to tell you what plugs you’d need.

A stage 1 remap on a Mercedes shouldn't need a colder plug.
It's when you get to Stage 2 and 3 that a step down to colder plugs should be considered.
If the plugs are high mileage, you'll feel an immediate response from new plugs.
