I had that problem. The wiper blades have been installed incorrectly. They may have been put on upside down.
Makesure that the wipers are installed so that the SHORTER length protruding above the arm.
If you install with the longer length above the arm you will get clashing of the blades.
Take off your blades and see if there is a difference in lengths when you rotate them 180 degrees. It seems odd but it works.

You don't state whether you have just replaced the wipers with a new set, or the existing set is doing this.
If the existing set are doing it - the obvious question is have they always done it?
Or if you have just put on a new set, are they genuine ones? You say that the mount is central, yet the suggestion in ecky jeck's post is that the mount is not supposed to be central. Are you sure they the right set for the model?

All fair points.
I just bought the car so can't vouch for the wipers unfortunately.
All I can do is buy a new set I suppose.
Can anyone confirm the EXACT lengths of BOTH blades and which length is for which SIDE please?
Then, I can order a set and hope for the best!
