Been looking at this for a while now. And getting lost by all the Chinese options. Lol.

I have a s205 2015. The seats do not have the entertainment option installed. But I am looking for a cleanish install for 2 rear screens for the kids.

One option I had was to mount there iPads on the rear seats. But the reach for the screen was the issue ( my daughter is only 3). Don’t want them sitting staring down on journeys.

Has anyone installed rear screens (maybe with remotes) and Bluetooth headphones.

Or can the mb seat plug be retro fitted?

Hi, we use iPhones clipped to headrest clamps. Bluetooth headphones. Movies are streamed over a little WiFi streamer that shows movies loaded onto a card. Works a treat. Kids select what they want to watch via the screen. If they want to watch together the headphones can connect together to sync the audio.

So you have a small network storage and WiFi in the car?

I’m pretty knowledgeable on the network storage front and I did think about creating an Emby server using a raspberry pi. Then using the kids iPads to connect to this. This is good as it’s removable.

But wondered if there was a permanent solution

I use a verbatim media share. Works straight out the box. I leave it plugged into the power socket in the armrest. Update the movies every now and then. Rip them from dvds I get cheap off eBay. I used a little android box before with an external drive which was hard wired to fixed screens in the headrests but this set up is simple and flexible as the girls can take the screens and the streamer out when we have the caravan.

Ideal. Thanks Andrew.

That solution would work. Would
Just need to find a decent mount for the iPads on the rear seats. Ideally one that does not involve taking them out the cases.

I have unlimited 5g data on my contract so can use teathering in the car for streaming.

All we had when my kids were young was: Are we there yet, are we there yet? 😉
Thankfully my two (7 and 3) don’t do this. Usually they time travel (sleep) but sometime on longer journeys they are awake.
