Mercedes C320 Estate 2003
Hi guys, some may think this is a silly pos, but, I was wondering why my C320 estate 2003 has such a great body for its age? I tracked down the only other owners it's had, and at no time has the vehicle had any paintwork fine on it. She gas done 114,000 miles on an 03 plate, but still she has an unmarked body, with no rust anywhere on the vehicle. Well yo be totally honest, she has three tiny stone chip marks on the bonnet, but other than that she is extremely clean.

The reason I ask is, veg been looking to buy another Mercedes, but each time I view one they are mostly sufferings from the dreaded wheel arch rust scabs, and some severe. At the age of my car, were the put through any special processes to fight rust, or was a different type of metal used? Please don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, just curious why my car is so clean, I assumed that she had some work done in the past, but Sir George that owned it before me can guarantee that no such thing happend, although he did state that his driver cleaned and polished it regular, would that be enough to preserve it so?

I just wondered if anyone has any inside info on Merc bodies and the obvious rust problems with them, and if there is a certain model type or year I should look for, so the rust problems can be avoided when hunting for my next car, im going to keep theC320 estate, but just wanted something else for nipping around in.

Perhaps he ensured all the gritty mud was cleaned off straightaway from where it normally collects in the rear arches, therefore preventing rust?

Having a driver prevents car park dings as client may be dropped of and driver stays with vehicle?

All I can think of...
