Clicking noise when turning

Hi all! I just bought a 2014 C63 AMG Edition 507 and found this forum.

I'm loving the car. It's a total animal. It has very low KM and in great condition but there's this clicking/rattling noise coming from the chassis when I turn the steering wheel more than 45 degrees. The rate of the clicking appears to be correlated to the speed, so something to do with rotation combined with turning. Mostly happens with right turns, and most easily replicated at roundabouts.

Has anyone experienced this issue and know what it might be? Is it worth getting a mechanic to look at it?

Well looking at the other sides forum it would seem MB has said this clicking is a wheel bearing giving up,amazing on a 17k C63,it seems in that case they replaced it free of charge, maybe take it to your local MB dealer and see what they say,I would suspect that if they do agree to do the work they will change the whole wheel hub,it makes financial sense to do that given the time needed to remove the hub and then get the bearing out and then press a new one in,let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the insight.

This car is out of warranty. Will they do it for free just because it's a known issue and the car is los KM?

Hahaha. Well this is not the first Mercedes I owned but the first one that isn't covered by warranty!

Unexpectedly, the independent mechanic I found (Sydney Star Motors - good guys) fixed the rattling noise on the spot and didn't charge me anything. All he did was take the wheels off and put it back on again. He said he couldn't really tell what was the problem but the noise is gone. Very happy to get this resolved. It would have been this annoying thing in the back of my mind. Thanks all for the comments

Almost always ticking noises from the front wheels are the brake pad shims MORE NOTICEABLE straight after getting new brakes fitted. OR the backplate has been bent over whilst the mechanic puts the wheel back on. ALWAYS A SCHOOL BOY ERROR.

The brake pads are not new in this instance and the mechanic who fixed it still doesn't know where it was coming from

Good result.
