Hi All

I have the opportunity to purchase an immaculate CLK220 CDI AVANTGARDE 55plate.

I am looking to buy from a well trusted work colleague who is updating his wifes car to an X3 (winter worries).

I have been offered it for £10,000. The car has only done 17,600 miles and is in truly mint condition (garaged every night). Is it worth it and are there and issues with the model. Ive looked and cars of more milage go for more money i think.

Please help me make my decision!

CLKs are great cars, very refined. No major problems that I am aware of. Have had ours 8 years with no trouble. Some would say the 220 is a bit underpowered but it really depends on how you drive. For me it would be fine. Spec is important for easy resale. Needs to be auto with leather. Even on smaller engined ones most were specced with leather. The price sounds pretty good.

Price sounds bang on for a 55 plate 220. Nice car, low mileage and if you're sure of the background/history, it's probably a good buy.

If you find the 220's 150bhp not enough, you can always get it remapped.

Sounds like a good buy, not many about with that mileage :thumb:

I`d bite his hand off pronto !
Beautiful shape, good and economical engine, proven covenance!!
You are a very lucky boy.
Regards
John

Thanks to all for the positive comments. I am going to buy the car for sure. It is for my lady wife and she does not drive too fast so I dont think there will be a power issue. However I have been thinking of getting a Brabus chip on my E 350 but I have not been brave enough to do it. This could be my chance to try a remap as I have never done anything like that before. Thanks again for comments I will post some photos soon.
