clk 230 fan and pully removal.

Hi there can any one help with my problem of vicous fan removal from my T Reg 230 clk Ive tried to take the four bolts out of the water pump pully but to no avail. The fan seems to be fixed on the end of the shaft that comes out the front of the pump.Any help would be good. The car was accident damaged so theres a few jobs to do on her so I dare say Ill be asking lots of questions in the future. P.S. The vicous fan is bent so its got to come off and it would be nice to do without breaking the water pump. Regards coupekev.

the large nut needs to be undone. i believe it is 36mm, you will need a solid spanner. the best way is to put the spanner on and tension it slightly, then hit it with a hammer!! all this is done with the polybelt fitted to make it easier. once freed off the nut will easily unscrew, but take note....

IT IS A LEFT HAND THREAD, that will be all.

Just got to halfords they will have the correct slimline spanner for under a tenner, then as alex says hit it.
