CLK 270 CDi Auto remapping

Hi all from a Merc Newbie!

I'm about to get my hands on a CLK 270 CDi in the near future and was looking for some advice about remapping these, is the autobox up to the job?

I gather that the engine itself is well up to the extra power but am concerned that by boosting power it could cause problems with the autobox?

Also, there seems to be a confusing array of companies to pick from, I gather that West Tuning are well respected, is there anyone else that should be getting a look in?

Any advice much appreciated! I can't wait to get my hands on the car now!

hello blue, the 270cdi c-class goes like stink already, what do you want to do with the extra power? yes it is a free world, and no, i am not set against fast cars!! i doubt you will get a consensus of opinion here though, this is a topic that divides peoples opinions somewhat. my opinion is that it is not worth the risk.

We'll see how I get along with it then, my current car is a V6 petrol and it is quite brisk, when I've driven the 270 I thought it was ok but a little bit flat compared to what I'm used to.

To be fair I wouldn't do anything straight away, I'd see how I get along with it as it's certainly got more torque to play with!

Any advice still appreciated though!

I've had mine done to 210bhp and have had no problems at all. Makes the car so much better to drive.
