Hi all,

im am having issues with my turbo so am looking at having it serviced and am eyeing up an upgrade as as "while its there"...

Midland Trubo have offered me the below at a cast of 190+ the dreaded....
Can anyone tell me if its worth it, will it be more reliable and slightly better under the lead foot?

Cold Side Hybrid which is essentially a re-bored Compressor Cover with a larger Billet Compressor Wheel, lightened turbine blades with performance seals and bearings

thanks

If it were me, I would go for a hybrid.. can't be a huge price difference.

As above; turbos have improved over the years, and a modern version of a ten-year old turbo is often much better.

What's the original issue with the turbo, they don't tend to give much trouble? Unless you plan on remapping to suit the turbo I don't think you'll notice much difference.

original turbo keeps throwing an actuator issue, put another on it and its ok for 6 months and I am back to square one. I am lead to believe that they are paired and not a direct swap out.
i would be looking at a stage one if i were to upgrade the turbo

the upgrade is an extra 220 so not massive

Where did you get with this? Did you have it all done?

Incidently is there a way to find out the turbo number via the cars vin number or any means other than stripping it out? Enyone? Thanks

I'd upgrade to a nice sweet petrol drinking version of your engine!! ;)

Nice idea Edd but i would be constantly looking for the 2 missing cylinders. :-/
