CLK bhp mod?

Curious... I have just bought a 200 clk 04 plate and love her!

During my search for one I noticed in 2006 when they did another facelift/tweak that the bhp changed from 160bhp to 184bhp

I dont think they changed the engine or supercharger? And wonder if anyone knows how they did this bhp boot. As the 0-60 is quicker and fuel consumption better than the pre 06 200 models.

As it kept the same insurance bracket it might be a mod I would look into if it was cost effective

Half answered my own question after some additional digging. The difference in the two engines is an ECU remapping. All be it I have seen that a couple of people have mentioned this alone wont do it and a change of pulley was required? ECU remapping alone would interest me as cost wise its not extreme but guessing if it moves into the pulley changing territory in addition to ECU remapping for the extra BHP, this is going to be costly

The supercharger is another obvious change, M271 with 163hp has a 72mm pulley, M271 with 184ps (Or the C230 with 192hp and the C180 BE) have the latest part number XXX XXX 27 80 with a 65mm pulley!

Apart from that there are more changes including ECU and more stuff that you can see in EPC!

There are many topics in here where your tuning options are discussed, over and over again

In a couple of months there will be even better news!
