Bulb needs replacing, instructions ot in handbook ,cant see how to get in to change the bulb .someone must know!

I don't have the same model but if it's anything like mine then the only way in is to remove the front section of the wheel arch liner. Doable with the wheel on and only 5 or 6 10mm nuts to undo should allow you to pull enough of the liner away to get in and reach the back of the spot/fog light.

Did this last night, quite fiddly. Turn front wheels on full lock away from side bulb needs changing. Locate 2 plastic plugs which hold liner to front of wheel arch. The plugs are 2 part, first lift the smaller centre part of the plug (use flat blade screwdriver or nail puller). No need to pull out completely, it just lifts, say about 1 cm. Once this is lifted, the whole plug should pull out. Remove the 2 plugs and gently pull the liner so that you can see "behind" the bumper. Worth using a torch at this stage to see what you are dealing with. Remove the plastic cover. There is a clip at the bottom. Press up to release (be careful, very easy to break). This exposes the actual connection. Again, use torch to see what needs to be done. Press clips in to bulb, the out to the side. Can be done one at a time. The bulb (still attached to cable/ connector) can now be extracted from the fitting. Remove bulb from connector and fit new bulb. Then reverse the operation. Note: Worth checking that bulb is working before reassembling everything.

Hope this helps.

Thanks will try this if it ever stops raining this week

I've just taken out the drivers side fog light bulb (r/h side, UK) on my '99 CLK (W208), I've got some pics if anyone is interested?

Hope you have strong fingers for that clip
