Hi all,
I have been looking as to why my passenger seat heater was not working.
There were no red lights on the button and no heat on the seat.
Upon further investigation under the seat I found 2 cables each with a brown and a blue wire which were either broken or cut!
These matched the colours of 4 wires on the back of a connector plate by the transmission tunnel.
A quick test with my trusty multimeter showed they were for the heated seats as when the switch was operated I had voltage.
Was just a case of matching the wires to the back of the connector and connecting up.
All working great again
However in the back of my mind is a little niggle as these wires looked like they had been cut on purpose.
Can anyone shed any light on why that might be?
The newly connected wires are not getting warm or pulling any current when the heated seat is switched off as far as I can tell with my limited knowledge of electronics.
As stated there is no voltage showing on my multimeter when the switch is off or when the car is not running.
Please put my mind at rest
Thanks
