clk 320 e
my clk 320 keeps cutting out it did it the first time yesterday in notts and would not start.after about an hour it did start and drove for about 16 mile home about 20 minutes later the car wouldnt start again,it took about 7 or8 attempts before she started its been the same today engine cranks but wont fire anyone got any thoughts

You need to have the fault codes read. It could be fuel or something like teh ECU or cam position sensor.

if the fault happens when the engine is hot i would go for the crank postion sensor
if you leave it for abit and let the engine cool down and then starts this is your fault common on v6 engines

my car is a 1999 model, and the problem does seem to be temp related ie it will start after a while also when its running if i rev to around 3.5/4k it stutters as if its hitting a rev limiter is this normal, and i can hear a rattling noise around the gearbox /exhaust area every now and then.cheers alan

it needs a new MAS sensor

If the problem gets progressivley worse it could be the distributor.

The M112 doesn't have a distributor - they use HF ignition so use coil packs and twin spark plugs per cylinder. It does sound like the camshaft position sensor maybe be faulty.

it was the crank position sensor thanks for the help lads
