clk soft top care

hi all can i use scotchgard auto fabric protector on the soft top of my 03 clk 320 convertible as a water repellant

I wouldn`t have thought so

I always use AG Cabriolet fabric hood cleaning kit, which includes the protector/sealer

I would agree with the AG solution.
When sealed try to only wash with warm water and no soap as long as you can.

i was told it was good, also tent fabric & canvas resealant , ive usedthe turtle wax 2 pack cleaner and sealant but it still seems to get saturated not running of like i want

Fabisil Gold will seal it and the water will bead/run off.

thats how i want it, gonna get a tin tomorrow , the turtle wax proofer dont leave the top like that strange

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Water beads and runs off a treat.
Apply it with a new paintbrush - i did all the seams and gutters first then did the whole top so they got two coats. Soaks in a treat and invisible when dry except the top looks 'newer'.
No need to mask off if you are careful.

I used yo use the auto Glym cabriolet roof cleaner and protector , in my opinion that was a fantastic product and when the protector was applied it was like the roof had been waxed !!!!
