CLK Tow Bar..?

Hi,
i have been looking for a towbar for my dads clk.. its a 320 with factory fitted amg suspension and wheels, have attached a pic

Thing is, most places i've looked say that the towbars don't fit the amg model, any ideas where i can get a tow bar for it???

I would imagine most towbar places will be able to fit a towbar to it, the problem is the rear bumper will need to be butchered to make it fit over the towbar, depending on who does it, it may not look pretty.

BTW if the car is 98/S plate or later (1/8/98 onwards) it must have a towbar that is Type Approved for that specific model.

cheers, i thought that might be the problem, has that one got a bumper exstension as part of the amg bits? sory, don't know much about them tbh

I think as far as type approval is concerned the car would just be a CLK320 (the fact it has a body kit fitted doesn't make it a different version). So you should be able to get a legal towbar, as Russ said it's just a question of how bad it will look after the AMG bumper has been cut to clear it.

If you get a removable one, you shuld also be able to get a little cover that when sprayed silver you will hardly know its there.

I had a bmw M sport convertible with the 'kit' and a removable towbar with cover you would be hard pushed to see it.

What do you want to tow / size wise.
