First time poster so please bare with me.

Am looking to purchase a CLK320 coupe next week. I have not inspected it yet, so am looking for advice.

The car has had one owner, has covered 80k and has full MB service history. mot was carried out yesterday.

Are there any gotchas? How reliable are they generally? What should I be keeping my eye open for?

This will be my first merc and don't want to make a potentially expensive mistake.

Many thanks

Just had a check using the search engine, it appears an 05 one should be relatively trouble free?

Its amazing how prices have dropped. The one I'm buying is under 7k, back in 2008 a 52 plate with the same miles would have been 10k plus.

Petrol. Leaving the oil burner market for a bit.

Looking forward to the V6 growl!

Although it should be galvanised, check all wheel arches carfully for rust, and the bonnet for stone chips that may have rusted (a couple is fine you are look for a rash-like effect).

Check the hood works well.

why dont u hit a 280 instead of 320 ? its more economic and more powerful

Dropped 1K a year then. I think thats good.
Mine tend to be 2.5K or more per year of ownership.
