Hi,
Hope someone can help with this to ensure that I do not get ripped off.
I own a CLs 350 W219 2006.
Last few months, the steering controls including horn have been working intermittently, with more not working than working if that makes sense.
Have actually attended an independent, and they done the tests via STAR.
Essentially, when plugged up to STAR, there is communication with the SCM and when they do the buttons test, there is no response.
Have been told it is the clockpring, however from research there is no SRS light.
Also when initially attended the technician reconnected the connection to a different port on the SCM, which resolved the issue for a few days.
In my opinion, if the issue is temporarily resolved via a different connection on the SCM, sure it must be the SCM to blame?
Opinions and experience in this, which I'm sure you guys have, woudl be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
