Just wanted to share the glowing feeling I have towards my CLS today.

Had various meetings in Central London today so decided to take the CLS instead of the train I'd usually tolerate. Cruising effortlessly down the M1 at an average (cough!)...mph (!) was blissful. Parked at the ZSL car park at Regents Park after just 38 minutes on the road (not bad from Junction11!)

Car was great, I felt great and the meetings went well. Nice way to start a day! :D

Thanks CLS! :)

And that's what it's all about :thumb:.

I wonder if Mondeo man feels it - I think not.

I can only imagine what a 500 or 55 must feel like... :D

..but I'm happy with mine.. :D ..and the 44mpg didn't hurt either!!!

Really ace. I also had a deisel one. I do slag the V6 for reliability but you never want or need any more performance than the V6 one...

John, 211 based and more reliable springs seem tougher and no reports of rust. Bags of seat adjustment, its my favourite Mercedes at the moment.

I love the sleek look, almost like they are gliding down the road...

I know we very rarely do it but passenger room is tight and I literally cannot fit in the back without tilting my head (6ft 2) so on that count...

I'm out

I'm 6'2" also and can't comfortably sit in the back, but in the front, I've got loads of room - it's a very, very comfortable place to be up front. Fortunately, we don't often carry people in the back and on the rare occasion we do, if they're under 6', no problem.

I think the best way to look at this car is as a mega comfortable, practical 2+2 coupe. Then it scores big time! :)

Totally agree. I think the CLS is a phenomenal car. Not only are they stunning to look at, they are really good to drive too. It never fails to put a smile on my face.
If I could afford the fuel, I would love an AMG version.
Saying that, I'm more than content with the 320. With the Brabus upgrade there's more than enough power.

That's exactly how I feel. I don't doubt the driving experience would be on another level with an AMG (or 500 possibly), but I'm more than content with the V6 diesel as it seems to be a perfect compromise between outright performance fun and economy. :)

Reminds me, since I've had my CLS I've now been complimented on it's looks seven times (usually at fuel stations..)!! That's more than any other car I've owned (which includes a Maser Khamsin back in the 90s!)

It probably my imaginations, but people seems to let me out the junction more than with any other cars that I've drove.

I would love to have a CLS63, never say never.

The 55 may well be better. Loads more low down grunt and 5g box. I had great fun in Sean's one. I really love them.

+1

you can only really decide if you have tried it ...

Is it such an issue if you're the driver of the car?

^

Thats why I said very rare...

Even though getting a child in or out of a car seat must be tricky and we do that quite a lot..

I like then think they are lovely cars but for us, the S211 is far too handy :)

Bugger!!! Can you believe after such a good day yesterday, I leave the car in a car park, no cars near it and I return to a dent in the N/S rear quarter panel!!!! :(

Some a*sewipe must have driven right over to the far end of the carpark, parked close to my car and knocked it with a door!!! I'm enraged as you can tell!

Spoke to my fiendly Smart repair guys just now who reckon £90 for a paintless dent removal. What a f"""ing waste of money!! :wallbash:

Why are people so damn careless???!!!

Next time you park at ZSL car park look out for a black W203 180K at the far end near the other (unused) barrier at the rear... ;)

I will! We're ZSL members and use the car park often when in London. Actually, the far end near the closed barrier is where I normally park - away from the Mums and their SUVs! :D

Best MPG yet, 38MPG on the way home from work! The car is getting better and better!

I had the same thing a couple of days before my CLS went in December! Dent in the rear quarter was just what I needed!:(
Popped into the dealers last night to have a poke around the new ML, but left feeling that it didn't really seem a great deal nicer than my current one.
Then I caught sight of a new CLS sitting alongside a '59 plate 'proper' CLS.
I now have to agree the the original looks so much better and I'm begining to pine for my old one......:o

And anotrher compliment! :)

Driving the CLS back from the Dentmaster guy this morning, stopped at some traffic lights, windows down and a young dude poked his head though the window, thumbs up and "Cool car mate!"

Don't you just love that! :D
