Just spent and hour in a cold garage waxing my winter wheels with Bouncer's Looking Sweet. I sourced some genuine CLS 17" wheels for my Grand Edition to replace the 18" AMG alloys over winter.
I was pleasantly surprised when the wheels arrived just how good the wheels were, freshly refurbished.

Event mobile tyres are coming on Friday to fit Avon Ice Touring tyres.

Almost to good to use as winter wheels!

They were purchased off Ebay as refubished, so not too expensive. As I wanted genuine MB wheels and lots of used ones need a full refurb anyway.

The CLS original wheels are diamond cut and have been refurbed by the dealer prior to my purchase, probably due to salt corrosion. So hopefully this gives me something nice to look at in winter and keep the AMG alloys for the summer.

The Grand Edition alloys may well be 'diamond cut' those 17's however are not, I did see those on eBay, so you got a bit of a bargain there.

You'll probably notice a more comfortable ride to on 17's with the higher tyre wall, does your car have Airmatic? I switched to a set of OEM 17's for winter and had them powder coated gloss black on Airmatic suspension raised setting the ride is super smooth, although it does look a bit 4x4 lol.

Hi MWCLS,
My CLS has the standard suspension, but I am expecting to feel a softer ride.

Did you have to change wheel bolts when you changed wheels? See my other post in this section:wallbash:
