My car is due a service in 4500 miles and Im looking to keep the costs down. Its asking for a Service B. Can anyone tell me what that includes. And is there anything I can supply to keep the costs in check.
Thank you
Service A and Service B are both oil and filter change, plus some checks, more checks during Service B than Service A.
(on some models Service B also includes Pollen filter change, on others it doesn't)
So in terms of parts there isn't much you can save on, unless the garage is happy for you to supply your own oil - Costco (if you are a member) have great deals on Mobil 1.
Most service items will come under 'additional items' i.e. are not linked to Service A or Service B, but to the time or mileage. You can find out what they are on ESS - the link provided by whitenemesis.
In a nutshell these include:
Air filter change
Fuel filter change
Pollen/Cabin filter change
Spark plug change
Auto gearbox ATF change
Brake fluid change (2 years)
Coolant change (15 years on later cars)
And potentially discs and pads pending the Service B inspection.
