Yes there is. But don't expect a simple USB-cable being sufficient for it to work with your car.

What you want 'to code'?
Few software exists... like said not entry level stuff... some needs online connection, some can go direct to hex code level...

When i had my VW Golf i had VCDS Hex+Can (genuine lead) which i used to retrofit stuff and coding for forum members. I'm in the same position where i might want to retrofit a couple of things so am unsure if STAR is going to be sufficient and which version.

STAR is required and some items will require Online SCN coding depending on what it is.

Clones can work with SCN coding but you need to be able to purchase access.

If unsure, speak to Alfie or Richard at Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk

We will shortly be selling a GENUINE Mercedes Basic 2 Xentry/STAR system with leads and multiplexor!

Excellent. Looking at a couple of retrofit options so no doubt will need some coding. On a side note, I don't trust clones or advocate their use (I know you're not promoting their use) you've spent £1,000 on your car are you really going to trust a hacked software?

What things are you looking at retrofitting?

The software is genuine so would not damage your vehicle. The most damage that could be don would be due to user error as these are powerful tools

STAR with Developer Mode will be able to modify most variant coding for retrofitting without requiring online SCN coding. DM can also re-code some second hand modules by cloning the existing coding over to the second hand unit.

Is there a difference coding a new part as opposed to a used one coming from a car dismantling?
