Comand retrofit?

Hi, I am viewing a C350 on Saturday (my first Merc) and after some research realise the Comand is the best system to have.
I have decoded the VIN and it is listed as having the following:

Audio 20 with CE changer
Navibox
DAB radio
UCI

From the photos it looks like it has a smaller screen for navigation etc, I would like to update it to the bigger one.
Also I believe the navibox satnav isn’t HDD based maps, I would definitely prefer those too!

What other gains would Xomand have?
Does the Navibox have 7 digit postcode search?
I’ve seen some ads where cars are showing Sat Nav screens with petrol stations showing the BP or whatever it is logo, is that only on Comand?

Comand will give you a bigger screen, DVD playback, SD card slot, seven digit postcode, better amplifier, bluetooth streaming, linguatronic...

As you have said it has Navibox it must be a model year 2012 or newer in which case Comand would be NTG 4.5.

Have you thought about something aftermarket that sits on top of the Audio 20 system.

Will probably be cheaper than a replacement Command unit and have extra functionality and bigger screen.

It doesn’t appeal to be for various reasons to be honest.
I have a huge dislike to screens sat on a dash or stuck to a window, adon’t do android stuff because all of mine is iPhone, plus touch screens in a car are just downright dangerous and annoying. Trying to use the one in our Golf Gti is a pain in the ****.
I will always prefer to go for the best OEM kit possible
I will probably be going for NTG4.7

Be aware that 4.7 map updates require a PIN specific to your car VIN as well as the update DVD's, the PIN can only be obtained from an MB main dealer or a qualified indie like Comand.co.uk that has the appropriate MB software. A map update will therefore cost IIRC about £150. I have occasionally seen MB dealers offering updates for £99, but not sure if this cost includes the PIN for NTG4.5 and later systems.

Yep, I’m aware of that, I’ve alresdy checked it will come with latest maps installed. I will be getting Comand.co.uk to do it
