comand to instrument cluster canbus wires

On my 1999 CLK pins 8 and 9 on C2 go to the cluster, is my mates new shape W211 e class the same? if not does anyone know the wires and which pins go where on comand for the canbus?

The bulk of the W211 stuff terminates in the door sill at a connector block.
