Yesterday actually got my sat nav updated after two years, now have Europe 2017/18 V16.0 MB say they will update for free each year under warranty, well they dont, now with warranty out next year got it, also had free winter check and was told rear tyers, Contis, have 4mm tread depth after 24,500 miles which i thought also to be good, will replace in new year before next trip abroad, while there I asked about a skinny wheel and tyer as car doesnt have spare, wheel and tyer costs £95.50 +vat and fabric bag £110 +vat, was told spares must be in a bag and securely strapped down in boot for safety, MB spares will supply a scissor jack for about £100 +vat, declined all of the above and was told of mb toolkit which includes jack, tools, chocks, and gloves, all in a stowage bag for only £63.50 +vat so ordered one. bought new wipers£37.

Yes, had a good day really they gave me an A 180 with only 300 miles on it for the day , so we buzzed about, bought a few presents and stuff, actually spent about £200 on mrs 103s present, having got out of the stealers at reasonable cost thought she deserved it, I know genorous to a fault as usual. MB said at least if you can remove the puctured tyer you can transport it to a garage to replace the tyer, supposedly using the old wheel and stick, and skipping off down the road. :)

MB Dealer said about £150/£160, apparently they have to contact mercedes of Germany with your Vin No, the new map is assigned to your particular vehicle, this gives them a DVD Object number ,, they then require a license key, and license which also must be paid for as a seperate item, and includes an activation code which is valid only for the above mentioned vehicle, and mapping material as supplied. The actual vehicle update can take 3to4 hrs, and you will be given a copy of all the numbers and key code when you collect your vehicle, in case it all crashes at any future date.So in total your cost is around £150ish, You may think there would be a more simple system, but thats MB for you, hope this helps, Good luck. P.

This is on the website at the moment:

Sat Nav Offer

And in the small print : "
[1]
Price excludes any applicable licence updates" - so does this include the cost of the PIN required for NTG4.5 and later?

Plus, if you have a pre-11/08 W/S204 with NTG4, they can only be updated to V12 2014-15, your local MB dealer may not know this, and attempting to install V13 or later would totally screw your NTG4 Comand!

Will ask my local stealer tomorrow if the cost is fully inclusive (of PIN) and ask about the version issue, just incase and report back.

Fotunately mine was free with warranty, but had quite a chat with A J their storeman, who explained all when I collected my car later that day.

So, I spoke to Marshalls Southampton and was put through to Parts, who then had me put through to Service (as it's a service, not a part) but knew nothing about the offer

The 'lass' on the book a service number (not being condescending in any way) went off and spoke to management and camelback quoting the licence fee line from the add. When advised that that was likely to be £250 to £300....

Call was ended then and there

Sorry that I cannot be of more help on this on, but if anyone gets more luck i would be interested to know.
