Hi everyone my name is Michael and I have just joined having just bought a Mercedes SL350 what an amazing drive, anyway got comprehensive cover from Saga for 212 pounds,ok I am 67 and have full no claims but what a premium so if you like the price give them a call.

They are very competitive the first year but have a reputation for being much more expensive in year 2. That was my experience and that of my father.

Thanks.

Hi ok I will be aware of that, but I do use comparison sites all the time and they do come up with very good quotes for myself,my wife and daughter.

Hello and welcome. Nice choice of motor.
As others have said, I experienced the same hike in premium at renewal, but have had the same with several other insurance companies as well. Loyalty does seem to count these days, they're all just after new business and then hope that people don't check the competition.

Like you I use the price comparison sites, but I also Google customer reviews for the most competitive quotes from these insurance companies.

Be aware that some of the price comparison sites are owned by insurance companies.

I've been with Saga for a few years now, and each time the renewal notice arrives there's also a "Price Match Guarantee" slip of paper - which says if you can find like for like cover cheaper elsewhere, they'll beat it by at least £1. It works - every year, once my renewal comes through, I spend a bit of time on the price comparison sites, making sure I'm comparing like for like, get the best one onscreen then phone Saga - and they've beaten that quote every year!

Saga insurance.

Hi again yes I was told to phone customer care next year when renewal is due and they will give me a good deal,I did the Confused .com thing and got a quote for £202 but my renewal from Saga was £294 so I rang them and guess what I ended up paying as I have stated £212 not bad for one phone call,I have been with them for a few years now as well.My SL350 is amazing,I just want to keep driving it especially with the top down but it is so cold at the moment, roll on Spring and Summer.

Hi grumpyoldgit nice to hear from you,I am 67 and thanks for message about my Sl350,nearly got the 500 but this one came up first, got it in Sheffield at The Car Specialists then drove it home to Essex down the M1 it was superb, see ya.
