Continental Sport Contact 3

About a month ago I had a full set of Conti Sport 5's on my w204 220 sport estate, and I am really disappointed. They are so much harder than the 3's, don't turn in as well in my opinion, and the extra noise is ridiculous.

The CS5 are more a sport tyre than the 3's so slightly harder sidewall's, sound like you'd prefer a Michelin or Toyo as these have sidewalls like butter. .

The 3's were a great tyre, maybe the 5's will soften up a bit with wear, but the noise is very un-Mercedes like..!!

I pummel the M6 from Stafford to Birmingham on a daily basis, getting near 30k each from my previous 2 sets but the noise these tyres generate through the cabin makes my car sound as noisy as the wife's A3.! Ive just spent an hour on the motorway again today and my passengers commented the ride isn't as smooth or wafty.. As normal... It's made driving the car a bit of a pain to be honest and changed the whole feel... I've had the balance and pressure tested, but for whatever reason they just don't suit the car...

I 'm going to try and change the fronts back to some 3's if I can find some, and then do the rears....

That is the very reason I went for the Premium Contact 3's rather than the sport..They are just that bit more compliant and take the edge off the hardness.

I need as much 'hardness' as I can get nowadays! :o
