Looking at Michelin Cross climate 2
Any one had experience of these tyres on my model Merc
Or what tyres do members recommend will change all 4, although front have 5 to 6 mm left on.

Hi do you have the side view of the tyre so i can see which model of tyre and are you saying the wet weather performance is terrible
Seems odd that conti SC7s would be fitted onto a 220D E class

Hi Thank you for your reply Sorry as you can see from my 1st picture of the tyre all pattern of tread has gone, so obviously in wet conditions tyre will not perform as it should.
Run flats came with the car from new, which were a very hard ride, so replaced with none run flat when needed, which greatly improved the ride. At the time not many Premium makes were available in the tyre size required.
As these tyres will need changing quite soon, looking for peoples views on replacement tyres.
Looking my self at Michelin Cross Climate 2 or the later tyre Michelin Cross Climate 3 sport

Thanks, what tyre brand and model is the one in the picture and on your car currently?

You've got loads of choices including michelin pilot sport 5 which are great all round tyres but the price is on the higher end. Im surprised the Continentals got so rotten after just 8k miles ! If you get plenty of winter snow then maybe the cross climates but if not I'd go for the sport 5. Had them on my bmw 6 series, they were excellent

Most welcome. The cross climate 2 seems a great all round choice, and will do better in winter also and should give a lot of miles. The sport 5 will do a bit better in the summer but not as well in cold winter temps. In any case I'd look out for special offers on the usual online retailers like Asda , black circles etc as they usually have 10 or 15% off sales.
I'm surprised how bad the Continentals are, I just fitted them onto my m3 in Jan and was going to stick them on the E class but am having serious second thoughts now !

Fronts are still very good with between 5 & 6mm even across treads on both front tyres. someone said I should retain them and put them on Marketplace could fetch £100 for the two they suggested. Rears still have about 1.5 mm above wear markers so in effect rear tyres will do about 10000 miles before legally required to change ie wear marker stage.
Along with yourself someone also suggested looking at Michelin pilot sport 5 as replacement for my tyres , reviews are very good for these tyres I have noticed.
Yes you are correct black circle offering 15% off for 4 tyres but ATS which is owned by Michelin I understand are slightly cheaper for 4 tyres by £16 at the moment which is unusual as black circle normally are very competitive.Once again sincere thanks for your input.
