coolant leak

Clk 240 Need advice, driving to work this morning looked in the mirror and noticed smoke /steam coming from back of car, turns out it was steam, pulled over and looked under the bonnet to find coolant was coming out of the front of what looks like it could be the water pump, any ideas as to what the problem could be

Water pump bearing worn causing coolant to pass through them?
