Hi All

So I have a Mercedes E250 CDI Blue efficiency 2010 Reg Saloon (Diesel 2.1L)

Currently the coolant level is dropping down every 2 days after I top it up to full and the level decreases by half a inch in 2 days.

I can see clear signs of fresh coolant color and water around the fuel filter housing area.

However, from the service history i can see that the car was fixed by previous owner for the fuel filter housing due to the same coolant leakage together with some seals.

Now I do not know what to do next. Could it be fuel filter housing again or any other thing around it? will a water pressure test help identify the leak?

I need your advise how should I go about it together with some good reasonable garage (specialist) near Slough who can identify the problem and fix it in reasonable price. I dont mind driving 20miles around to go to a good garage that can fix it without high charges.

Appreciate your kind advice.

Thanks
Kay

Hi there, fuel filter housings are quiet common on these engines, and can still leak if not installed correctly, I'm based in Aldershot Surrey, which it's not too far from Slough and I've been Mercedes technician over 10 years. So I can help if youd like?

Thank you Oleks. Can I please have your post code or contact number to coordinate with you please.

Should you need to purchase - ensure that you ask MB the price over an "exchange unit" rather than simply buy new.

I didn't know they did an "exchange unit" is this because its a known fault?

The part is now modified. Its possible you had the old type fitted. No exchange on this part. Very common issue.

I suggest you wipe the dried coolant mark with a wet cloth, then check if they come back? The marks you see might have been there since the previous leak.
