Crazy sunroof

Dear All,
I will try to explain the problem with the sunroof of my W208.
I can open the sunroof (full retract) but when I operate the switcher to close it, it stop in a not fully closed position. If I operate the switcher to close it, the result is to OPEN and vice versa…:bannana: Then, after several attempts and without any apparent reason, is possible to close it . I have followed what the manual is saying to do when the battery is disconnected (the battery was indeed disconnected for several days) i.e. press and keep pressed for more that 1 sec the switcher, but this did not change the situation….All the mechanisms are perfectly oiled.

you need to reset the sunroof

from where the sunroof is 'stuck', push the switch up (i.e. as if you are tilting the sunroof) and hold it until the sunroof is at tilt position. If the sunroof doesn't move much or stops before it gets to tilt position, release switch and repeat the 'push up and hold' process.

when closing the roof at speeds in excess of 40mph, it is best to open the side windows -- otherwise the wind pressure is so strong that the sunroof module thinks it has been closed.

Actually this is what I did but did not work. I am thinking to spray some contact cleaner on the switch.

wax the metal edges along which the sunroof sits to make it easier for the motor as well

If the motor won't reset after trying to 'normalize' it (as above) the hall sensor in the motor is probably faulty and a new motor will be required.
