I know why this is happening, but thought I'd post just for reference as it illustrates how critical having the same tyre sizes can be (and we have had a couple of threads recently about crusie dropping out)

I knew the front passenger side was getting near the limit (great time of year for it) so on Christmas eve I swapped it for one of my spare wheels - a conti with 6mm+ on it (doesn't match anything else, so I've been using it as a spare to even up wear on the other tyres). So I now have 3 P6000s and the conti, the rears have 3mm and the other front 3mm.

Didn't notice anything pottering about over Christmas, but when I hit the motorway on Monday 4th Jan and engaged cruise, it dropped out after about 15 seconds. Tried a few times and it would stay in below 75, but as soon as you nudged the lever up to 75 it would drop out.

Pretty certain this is down to the different rolling radius of the 6mm conti. Shows how sensitive the crusie is to a different radius (also having one different make tyre on the front axle may not help).

I did check the tyre pressures as well but they are spot on (by way of experiment I'm inclined to add 2psi to the 3mm front tyre and see what difference that makes). Also I have another P6000 with 4mm on it I might swap that for the 3mm one to see what difference it makes (then swap back when the weather has improved and the conti's worn down a bit more).

You do know the speed limit is 70 don't you ;)

Lots of reasons to scrap all your P6000s there!
I know what you mean, but actually I've found them OK (and I tend to preserve momentum through the corners/roundabouts) - things have been OK in the snow as well. But there will be a set of Falken 452s going on soon.

Having a spare of wheels what I should have done was finished off the 2 good tyres that are in the garage over the summer and then put a set of winter tyres on.
