Hi all

I know there are vast amount of posts regarding the matter, but those which have the answers, are quite old.

What would be the cost of retrofitting DAB to W204, Dec 2012 with the Command?

There was a link in some other thread, suggesting the cost would be around £700. As this was two years ago, I would like to think the prices have come down, as they normally do on anything to do with technology.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly that price was probably for NTG4 DAB. your car will be NTG 4.5 and the costs are somewhat higher than £700. Email us the VIN and we will quote you.

Guess my pre-facelif S204 will not be getting DAB then!

Hi Alfie, in that case I will have to leave it, as it is quite a lot more than my urge to have a DAB.

Thank you for replying :)

Surely a hugely expensive all singing integrated unit is only one option? There are add-in units, like the Pure or Alpine - or you could fit an after market DAB head unit? Both these options are less than £200
If you want sat nav and all that, the price goes up, of course...

The trouble with add-on units is the sound quality is compromised by using FM and/or AUX input.

Yes they are cheap and often involve a separate screen to be mounted somewhere.

NTG1/NTG2 DAB can be done for £699 using the in2digi box which is true digital right through the amp in the car. And its integrated.

NTG3/3.5/4 DAB can be done as per factory for £999. this is a massive saving over what the previous cost was which involved husgely expensive antenna packs etc.
