What’s the difference between a random orbital sander and a random orbital polisher other than the sanding pads and cleaning pads?

As far as I know, the polisher wil typically have larger discs, and lower RPM, compared to a sander.

In short, the polisher is too slow to sand or cut, while the sander is too fast to polish and could actually damage the paintwork.

Others may have more info.....

As above the polisher will sometimes have variable speeds but even on the fastest setting it will not be anywhere near as fast as a sander.

Thanks. Was just curious what the difference was.
If you go the sander route , practice on your neighbours car first buddy ;)
