My CLK 320, 209, has been trouble free ever since I had the crank sensor replaced some time ago. However, I went over to it last night to find the instrument display has gone haywire.
The dashboard lights would come on/go off, the centre info display appeared either monochrome without any text or would show random faults, with bits missing, and the rev counter was showing 7000rpm at tickover, but still turned clockwise if I blipped the throttle, (it wasn't doing 7000rpm!)
It looks as if the display controller, assuming there is such a thing, has gone U/S. Any advice on where I need to look to find that and how easy is it to replace? Don't tell me, dashboard out job!
Many thanks, LG.
PS.I thought that the battery might have gone flat but the car started straight away and everything else seems to be working fine.
