Hi all
i dont know if ive posted in right place here but here goes.
ML270 2001 model auto.
When driving i have pad warning light come on Handbrake warning light come on with a beeping noise and the speedo drops to zero, it also stays in whatever gear it was in when lights come on?
The car has new discs and pads allround, full brake reservvoir. Ive also replaced o-ring on auto box conector that was leaking,
Any ideas chaps?

The pad warning light is showing the sensor wire has worn through indicating time for new pads. As you have new pads and discs, it suggests the sensor wire wasn't renewed at the time. That's what I'd check first.

The beeping and red warning light is most likely showing your handbrake isn't fully released. Try pulling the handle a few times to see if releases correctly. If not it needs adjustment. Not sure where the adjustment is on your model, but under the rear seat on the right is where I'd start looking.

Your other issues really need looking at by someone with MB diagnostics to check the fault codes.

If your handbrake is actually a foot brake? try pulling the pedal up towards you with your foot. They can get a bit sticky through lack of use and then do not always release correctly causing the red handbrake warning message.

ive got car booked in on thursday with an indy with merc star.
When the lights come on it is at exactly the same time?
I understand if pad wire is chafed but these are part of the pad, not replaceable.
It seems tto me it must be something that both hansbrake and pad warning are linked to otherwise they would come on seperately?
Hopefully the merc star might give me a clue.
Will keep you posted.

Cheers
