Davenport Motor Company

I'm struggling to see the relevance of posting it here ?

Was the OP going to buy a car ( an MG or otherwise ) from Davenport , or did he just read about it and thought that he would do his bit in boosting the bad press up the Google rankings ?

:dk:

Whats the point ?

Or otherwise... I've been looking for a car since donating the W202 to a charity in Timbuktu...

That post made me avoid Davenport... ended deciding not to even enquire about going to see the car... Bought one from 200-miles from my hours... going to pick it up tomorrow night ;)

I thought that given that they sell MBs as well, it may save someone a (long in my case) trip up!

M.

They may well be an unsavoury bunch, but there is no way you are asked to leave and threatened for just offering below the screen price. He has probably been a smart **** and p'd them off to the point of them throwing him out.

BTW, the inside of his Leyland is horrific..........

Looks like six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Gets upset when they come and take pictures of his car shortly after ..... he's taken pictures of them. Then stops directly opposite the garage to 'phone a friend'.

Not condoning what they did but I'm betting they had a fair bit of provocation.

Provoked or not it's still highly unprofessional to behave in that manner when you are in business, despite how you as the trader may be feeling. Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue and move on....

I think it's a total overreaction on the part of the punter. He's just misunderstood a traditional North-East welcome! What did he want, a cuddle!? :p

The story is probably accurate if my experience with them is anything to go by.

I have recently bought a car from the said company (a mercedes riddled with faults) and will bring you the entire story once the case is settled as it may go legal.

Holy thread resurrection Batman ;)
