Hi guys,

I bought from a friend a Dension 500 gateway (GW51MO2 MOST version with BTA1500) that was installed in his 2006 SLK and working fine.
I installed it in my 2008 CLK, removed the CD-changer and configured the dension 500 to work without the cd-changer, I connected my ipod and all worked.
Next day I started my car and I see on the comand screen "reading changer" or something like that, and after that no ipod is shown, only the BT is available!!

I realized that I have to reconnect the ipod every time I start the car in order to ipod be available and to listen music from the ipod!

Is this normal or I messed up in the installation!?

I really liked how the interface works but this problem I was not expecting.

Thanks

With the factory ipod kit this doesnt happen and you can keep the Cd changer working too.

If you had messed up the installation then the phone/head unit wouldnt work at all as the fibre bus wouldnt be complete.

All work as before, my only concern is the Dension working this way, I don't know if it is normal or not!

I read some where that maybe the MOST circuit need to be changed in DAS, or even deactivate the CD-changer!
I need to try that since every time I start the car the radio turn ON but it shut down 1-2sec and then turn On again, I suppose that could be the Dension turning on and affecting the MOST circuit.

PS: I had the mercedes ipod kit... not worth the money for me.

I have a Dension, but only installed them in BMWs and Audis so far, however, I do remember them needing to be put into a sort of engineer mode on Mercedes.
You have to switch one of the dipswitches on and off 3 times and then the menu comes up on the radio, you then have to tell it what options you have/want.

Have you got the install manual??

Here you go...

Saab & Mercedes vehicles require final configuration of the Gateway as not all of the radios in these vehicles support text display. After Gateway 500 has been installed, toggle the mode selector switch six times (three times on/off ) and a configuration menu will appear on the radio display. Select the configuration mode according to your head unit listed in the configuration table. To confirm the selection press and hold
<< to discard the selection press and hold >>

Track - Config
1---------NO TEXT Default
2---------Timeout -
3---------Text -
4-------+Cache -
5-------+Paging Recommended
6-------+Select -

Not sure if that will help.

I would plug the changer back in as it is probably looking for it on the most bus network and can't find it.

I will have a try connecting to 12v constant and not to ignition.
I have feedback from a friend that had the same problem with other interface not Dension, and I allready read in the slkforum that everyone is connecting to the cd changer cord...

I have the manual but that configs are allready done by the previous owner ;)

I will post some feedback when done.

Thanks

Yeah you need to be on a constant 12v feed, the most bus will wake it up and put it to sleep.
You need to to have power when you unlock the car so when the most ring wakes it sees the unit.

Can anyone confirm me this please:

Pink/blue -> Most wake up
Brown -> ?
Black/blue -> ?

I'm not sure and when connecting it I don't want to mess it up!

PS: I searched but could not find this color scheme!

The wake up lines on the car will be Pink , there should be a multi conector in the wire gutter , where all the MOST components

In my case (2008 W209):

pink/blue: 12v
Brown: ground
Black/blue: MOST

All work fine now, thanks ;)
