Dent Removal Midlands

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to mention Andy http://www.andydent.co.uk/on here as he has done an absolutely fab job on my SL.

I had dented my 2001 SL320 and had taken it to another dent guy to remove, he tried for 1 hr and gave up, I subsequently called 3 other dent removal guys and even had them come and look at the job only to refuse working on my car, one even went to the lengths of saying that the dent was made worse by the previous guy who attempted to remove it and that the metal was now to weak to be worked and recommended I get it filled and re-sprayed.

Having given up I took the car to a close friend of mine for it to be re-sprayed, who happened to know Andy and gave me his details.

Andy does all the work for Mercedes Benz Milton Keynes HO so he knows the ins and outs of our cars better than the majority of PDR guys based around here IMO.

Having watched Andy work, I have to say he is one of the most dedicated and honest PDR guys out there and also very reasonable price wise.

I think he will work Coventry, Warwickshire and maybe Milton Keynes and Leicestershire.

Definitely the guy to call if you have any dings and dents before you go and get it sprayed.

Hi - just been reading about your experiencies with PDR guys.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who start up in this trade because it looks like easy money. Then there are those who buy franchises and then trade off the back of a regional or national name - everybodies skill level and approach to a job is different - and it shows (as you found out).

Glad you found a guy to trust.

I think the thought of the time removing the dent puts most of them off. If i had to name and shame these guys it was 2 -3 of the most used Dent guys around here including 1 very large franchise.

Andy spent almost 9-10 hours on my car, but he still only charged me what most PDR guys charge for a small dent that can be done within 1 hr.

I was with him as he worked on my car so i can vouch for the time spent on it.

Its really hard to find guys like him in any industry or service that will go the extra mile to please the customer and still ask for the going rate hence my post on here.

Wow - 9-10 hrs is an incredibly excessive amount of time . Thought it was 1 dent you had.

Are you sure you didn't mean 9-10 mins?

In all the years i've been doing this i have never spent any longer than 3 hrs on a ridiculously colossal and awkward dent, as can be seen from plenty of examples on my website.

And this chap spent 9-10 hrs for the price of a quick small dent ie. £50 - £70? Well at that rate, he must be extremely busy and penniless!!!

Having said that - good luck to him - i wish him well.

It was two dents and they were large in comparison to a normal door dent from the supermarket. If it were a small dent one of the other jokers that told me to get it sprayed would have taken it out.

I had actually fallen of my motorbike, thinking the kickstand had locked but it hadn't, my shoulder and elbow went into the door of my SL so if you can imagine my weight which is around 80kg the weight of the bike which is another 184kg = 264kg going onto a metal door panel may give you a clearer idea as to the damage.

Andy is a perfectionist, also with all the sound deadening material inside the doors he has done a awesome job, Mercedes Benz Head Office would not use him if he was your average dent guy .

There are a few bodyshops i would use all differ in price and quality of work depends on what needs doing i would use a different bodyshop..
