Bugger. Just went out to the car to go out and noticed some numpty has dented my passenger door and scraped a nice indent along for about 6 inches. Thanks for letting me know.

My eldest son got into the other side and noticed another dent that side where someone has obviously smashed their door into mine when getting out. Great.

Why can't people be more careful? Sometimes I wonder if having nice car in the UK is worth it anymore.

I guess it will cost around £200 to fix other people's carelessness. Any recommendations for Dent Doctor or similar?

There are some daft numpties around but try living in Spain. They parallel park by reversing until they hit you everytime...even when you are in the car...and even when you argue they lift up their hands as if to say, 'whats your problem'? Hated it when I lived there.

Aint nothing changed in Spain that's for sure, extremely rare to see any car without battle scars, I used to get so upset but now I just go with the flow and reluctantly accept it. I still open my doors gently when parked close and even put my fingers between my car and the other.
Mind you, you will remember the way the Spanish park at strange angles in car parks, they say this is to avoid others parking close to them and avoid the dents and scratches.

I was thinking about buying a set of these door defenders for the SL having seen them on some cars recently.

Has anyone tried them?

Looks like a good idea ,can easily be removed when not needed ...good for those who regularly have to park in car parks .Have the spaces in car parks got narrower or is my car getting wider . In some car parks there hardly seems room to open your door to get out!!

I am sure I could copy this, park right on the other side of the car park and STILL come back to find some prat in a shed parked close enough to leave a dent in the bit that isn't covered

The idea is great but I can just see them getting nicked

I never seemed to have a problem when I drove my other baby into town:) I never locked it, a bit difficult with no working locks, but my Jack Russel normally kept it safe:)l

I made my own using side door strips, fitting rubber magnets and sprayed it. I used them on my Impreza and they worked a treat. No one ever nicked it as it looked like part of the car. As long as you pull it directly off and dont slide it as then it wont scratch the car either.
